Gunung Karang ini atapnya provinsi Banten dengan ketinggian 1778 mdpl, sedangkan Gunung Aseupan ketinggiannya 1174 mdpl gunung paling barat di Pulau Jawa dari atas gunung ini bisa lihat langsung Selat Sunda
Catatan Perjalan Singkat
Tujuan : Gunung Karang dan Gunung Aseupan.
Jalur yang dilalui : Gunung Karang via Pintu Sumur Desa Kaduengang dan Gunung Aseupan via Sukaraja Jl Raya Jiput.
Jumlah Tim : 4 orang
Waktu Pendakian : Gunung Karang tektok dan Gunung Aseupan camp satu malam.
Medan Pendakian : Gunung Karang (Ladang Penduduk dan Sedikit Hutan Tropis) Gunung Aseupan (Persawahan, Ladang Penduduk, Hutan Punggungan Menuju Puncak.
Suhu saat itu : Panas tidak terlalu dingin.

Cerita Pendakian
Gue sama Ucup start 18.30 dari Depok ketemuan sama Fajar dan Bang Galang di SPBU Gembong Balaraja 22.15 baru tiba di SPBU ini. Udah 3,5 jam aja baru sampai sini masih jauh ke Pandeglang. Baru sampai di Pintu Sumur 7 tuh 00.30 total 6 jam dari Depok. Asli ini perjalanan paling jauh gue naik motor. Belum lagi otw ke Basecamp Gunung Aseupannya yang hampir mentok ke pantai sedikit lagi. Dari Pintu Sumur 7 ini ke Basecamp Pendakian Gunung Aseupan masih 3,5 jam lagi. Capek gak tuh, nanti baru turun tektok Gunung Karang langsung cus ke Aseupan!

Ini pendakian paling sakral si menurut gue, sebelum memulai pendakian kami disuruh kuncen untuk zairah terlebih dahulu ke Makam disitu. Asli si tengah malam kami ke sebuah bangunan kaya langgar gitu terus ada makam ditutupi kain putih ada kembang-kembang disekelilingnya wanginya khas. Gua jadi followers aja disini yang mimpin doa anak pondok si @ucup. Bagaimanapun kita harus menghormati budaya setempat.

Lanjut Aseupan, gue kira deket ya jaraknya BC Karang ke BC Aseupan kan Sumbing Sindoro Kledung Garung. Gak taunya 3,5 jam lagi motoran. 12.30 cabut dari Pintu Sumur 7 tiba di Basecamp Aseupan 16.00. niat kami mau langsung naik tapi pas tiba di BC harus lapor Pak RT dulu karena kita belum tau medannya. PAK RTnya lagi pergi ke ladang baru pulang pas udah mau magrib, sabar gak tuh nungguin RT. Pak RT datang kami langsung minta izin mendaki, kami mulai mendaki jam 18.00. diawal jalur kami diantar anaknya pak RT karena banyak jalur bercabang setelahnya kami dilepas mengikuti jalur pendakian yang sudah jelas. 20.30 setelah 2,5 jam berjalan kami mendirikan trap tent di Camp 2. Istirahat... besok paginya 06.10 berangkat summit, tiba di Puncak Aseupan 1174 mdpl 07.10. fyi jadi basecamp Gunung Aseupan ini adalah rumahnya Pak RT di Desa Kaduhejo Jl Raya Jiput Caringin. Awal datang gue kira tuh bakal banyak stiker-stiker pendakian gitu, eh ternyata gak ada, gak ada petunjuk kalo itu rumah di jadiin basecamp. minimal spanduklah pasang biar kita ga nanya nanya lagi.
